Clinical Service Blueprint for a multi-site medical oncology centre
When working with a multi-site comprehensive oncology center, I was tasked with designing a clinical service blueprint that would bring together multidisciplinary teams (MDT) who previously lacked transparency of patient notes and treatment plans across different sites. The siloed nature of their systems led to delays in decision-making and inconsistent access to critical patient data.
Through careful analysis and service design, we developed a centralised digital framework that allowed real-time sharing of relevant patient information, enabling clinicians, oncologists, and allied health professionals to access up-to-date treatment plans, test results, and notes, regardless of location. This transparency significantly improved communication between MDT members, fostering a more cohesive approach to patient care and reducing the risk of errors or duplicated efforts.
The new blueprint not only improved operational efficiency but also elevated the quality of patient care, as the teams were able to collaborate seamlessly with full visibility of the patient's treatment journey, ultimately leading to better-informed decisions and improved patient outcomes.
