Automation implementation for comprehensive oncology centre

In collaboration with a comprehensive oncology center, I led the design, configuration, and implementation of workflow automation that streamlined both clinical and business processes. Initially, the center's existing service design relied heavily on manual processes, which led to inefficiencies, inconsistencies in patient management, and a lack of trust in their electronic health record (EHR) and e-prescribing tools.

Through a thorough assessment of their business rules and clinical workflows, we identified areas ripe for automation and improvement. By implementing automated workflows for scheduling, documentation, and medication management, the center experienced significant enhancements in efficiency and accuracy. Automation not only reduced the administrative burden on clinical staff but also ensured consistent and error-free execution of business processes.

The result was a notable increase in trust and confidence in their EHR and e-prescribing systems, as clinicians and administrative staff experienced the benefits of real-time data synchronization, reduced duplication, and streamlined workflows. This improvement led to better compliance with treatment protocols, improved patient safety, and a more efficient clinical environment.
